Republican conference held to mark Constitution Day

A republican conference on the theme “The Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan — a guarantee of human rights and freedoms” was held at the Islamic Institute of Tajikistan on the initiative of the Committee for Religion and Regulation of Traditions, Ceremonies and Rituals under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. The event was dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan and to the “Year of expanding works on improvement and creation, and strengthening national self-awareness”. Participants discussed the role of the Constitution in safeguarding human rights and freedoms, strengthening national values and improving legal awareness in society. It was noted that respect for freedom of conscience, compliance with the law and protection of citizens' rights are important for peaceful coexistence and social stability. It was also stressed that promoting constitutional norms, especially among teenagers and young people, makes an important contribution to strengthening national unity and building a law-based society.
