A delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Farrukh Sharifzoda took part in the China International Friendship Cities Conference 2026, held in Xi'an, the People's Republic of China.

The conference discussed ways to expand inter-municipal cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, tourism and sustainable development.

At the closing ceremony, Dangara district in Khatlon Region was awarded the Friendship City Award for Outstanding Partnership with China.
